Emmady says this is good news for epilepsy patients, who previously had to travel out of state to get care from a board-certified physician. As a board certified doctor Emmady says one of his skills is to distinguish between an epileptic seizure and a non-epileptic seizure.

He says this is important because the two kinds of seizures require entirely different medications.

Dr Emmady  helped start the CRMC epilepsy center, a Level III center recognized by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers.
