Cheyenne Regional Medical Center CEO Margo Karsten says there's no need to travel to Colorado for medical care.

Karsten says she has worked in Colorado and "I know their secrets", adding CRMC is very comparable to Colorado in terms of physician quality and other factors. Karsten says CRMC has a false reputation for a high patient infection rate, and says statistics show that isn't justified at all.

Karsten says third party studies on patient outcomes  show the Cheyenne hospital actually does quite well.

She says her administration has been working to make sure patients get caring and compassionate  health care, crediting Chief Nursing Officer Constance Schmidt with "involving everyone" in the effort.

Karsten also says the hospital is working to address billing issues, and says a committee of former patients has been recruited to help in that area.
