Cheyenne Regional Medical Center has been recognized one of “100 Great Hospitals” in the nation by Becker’s Hospital Review.

Wyoming Medical Center in Casper also was recognized by the review.

The list is based on a hospital’s achievements, quality of patient care and patient services.

“To be selected as one of the nation’s top 100 community hospitals is an honor and is also validation that we are providing the kind of care that our community expects and deserves,” said Craig Luzinski, CRMC’s vice president of performance optimization.

Hospitals listed have fewer than 550 beds and minimal teaching programs. Some are located in suburban areas, but many, like CRMC, are in more rural areas and are the only full-service hospitals in their communities.

In introducing the list, Becker’s wrote, “Whether independent or part of a larger health system, the hospitals on this list have continually worked to provide high-quality care.”

The Becker’s editorial team selected the hospitals based on rankings and awards from several nationally recognized organizations. Under CRMC’s listing, Becker’s noted that “in 2015, CareChex rated Cheyenne Regional Medical Center No. 1 in the state for overall hospital, medical and surgical care, as well as in numerous specialties.”
