Craig Bohl Announces First Class Of Recruits

QB Nick Smith: 6’4, 212 lb. Merritt Island, Florida.
“He is a prototypical mold of a pro style QB.  Very smart player who makes the right decisions on time.  Big frame and great athleticism.”

DB CJ Jennings: 5’10, 175 lb. Orlando, Florida.
“He has excellent athleticism and ability.  He played at a great program and has the tools to either play corner of safety.”

OL Cole Turner: 6’4, 285 lb. Cedar Rapids, IA.
“Great frame, excellent feet.  Huge growth potential, big exciting prospect from Iowa.  Fits the mold of our type of O Lineman.”

QB Austin Fort: 6’4, 210 lb. Gillette, WY.
“Top athlete in Wyoming.  Can do a lot of things on the field as a QB.  Brings great value to the team, big upside with great athleticism”

TE Grant Lewis: 6’5, 225 lb. Memphis, TN.
“He comes to Laramie playing only 1 year at the tight end position.  He played quarterback previously.  Showed great skill, athletic ability, and size.  Huge upside.”

RB Brian Hill: 6’2, 210 lb. Belleville, IL.
“Has great size and athleticism which fits the make up of a prototypical NFL back in the power run game.  Very explosive and physical runner.”

DL Daniel Vega: 6’3, 255 lb. Cedar Rapids, IA.
“He played multiple positions in high school.  Athletic enough to play running back, but will come to Laramie to become another great presence on the D Line.”

DL Conner Cain: 6’4, 250 lb. Littleton, CO.
“Colorado kid who has great size and potential.  Athletic body that will work inside and develop great depth for the Cowboys defensive front.”

OL Ryan Cummings: 6’5, 290 lb. Highlands Ranch, CO.
“He is an explosive player with huge size and potential.  He can be a physical force in the middle.”

DB Chavez Pownell: 5’11, 183 lb. Tampa, FL.
“He has excellent speech and athleticism.  He is a dynamic safety who is also a great returner.  He has great potential and is a physical tackler.”

DE John Jackson: 6’3, 240 lb. Tucson, AZ.
“He is athletic and runs well for his size.  He is very disruptive.  Any Tampa 2 defense starts with a dominating run defensive front.  He has that potential.”

RB Nico Evans: 5’9, 177 lb. Los Angeles, CA.
“He is a smaller back who played in a great league in California.  He is more of a darter as a back who has great feet and quickness.”

DB Ryon’e Winters: 6’0, 185 lb. Grandview, MO.
“He is a longer kid with great change of direction.  He is very explosive with great cover skills.”

DL Sidney Malauulu: 6’3, 285 lb. Sierra Vista, AZ.
“He has the size and mentality to be an impact player in the middle.  He will be an immovable presence in the inside, that will free up our linebackers.”

QB Aaron Young: 6’2, 208 lb. Sacramento, CA (ASA Junior College).
“Great match, looking to come into a great situation and make an impact right away.”

TE Jacob Hollister: 6’4, 230 lb. Bend, OR (Arizona Western JC).
“He is an exciting player who has not played a lot of tight end.  He is a very athletic kid who played quarterback most of his career.  He has big upside.”

OL Richard Bettencourt: 6’3, 290 lb. Meridian, ID.
“He has good size and moves the ball very well.  He is physical off the ball and moves defenders.”

TE Tyree Mayfield: 6’3, 220 lb. St. Joseph, MO.
“Athletic tight end who can do a lot of things.  Typical pro style tight end who is also a great basketball player.  He has great potential.”

TE Brinkley: Jolly 6’5, 240 lb. Liberty, MO.
“He has tremendous upside with his size and athletic ability.  Great basketball player, with NFL bloodlines.  He has the potential to easily get up to 260 lbs.”

DB Robert Priester: 5’9, 170 lb. Tampa, FL.
“He is a very dynamic player.  He is very quick and has the ability to change direction well.”

DE Josh Stanton: 6’2, 235 lb. Valencia, CA.
“He has great size and movement skills, he has a brother on the team and has a great motor with a great upside.”

LB Alex Bush: 6’2, 220 lb. La Habra, CA.
“He is a hard nosed aggressive linebacker who runs great and is very physical.  He fits the mold of Cowboy linebacker.”
