As of Sunday evening, the Cow Camp Fire is now at 8,492 acres and containment is now at 90 percent. 320 personnel are now on-hand at the incident.  Crews have begun to be demobilized and redirected from the fire to others in the area.

According to a news release, road blocks remain in place at the following locations: Fletcher Park Road at the junction of Fish Creek and Rabbit Creek; Cottonwood Park Road at the junction with Harris Park Road; and Cottonwood Park Road at its’ intersection with Palmer Canyon Road.

Fire lines at the Cow Camp Fire have held strong and withstood intense winds both Saturday night and Sunday. Mop up operations are in full swing and personnel numbers have been decreased. Firefighters will continue mop-up work along the fire edge looking for hot spots and fortifying fire line along  the perimeter.

The local unit has contacted specialists with the T Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) Team, which will begin assessing post fire conditions so that they can recommend and implement treatment to protect natural and cultural resources.

Members of the public that may be in the area are reminded that road closures are in place to the north, south and east of the fire area.  Those closures and barricades are in place for both the safety of the public as well as the firefighters.
