WORLAND, Wyo. (AP) — Authorities say high winds reignited a controlled burn at a property north of Worland, resulting in the complete loss of a house.

The homeowner was burning piles of foliage on the property Sunday and thought the fire was extinguished.

Worland Fire Department Chief Chris Kocher says high winds hit the area, igniting the fire that spread to a deck and then the house. No one was injured by the blaze.

Fire crews responded to the property Sunday night and worked into Monday morning to extinguish the blaze.

According to the National Weather Service, the area experienced wind gusts of up to 59 mph Sunday.
