The community of Cheyenne has done it again with this year's Day of Giving. This is a testament of what Cheyenne residents can do when them come together and give.

Since January of this year, churches, organizations, youth and citizens have been giving of their time, finances, items and food to help make this years event the best yet, in the last 11 years of its existence.

Collectively, about 18,760 pounds of nonperishable food, craft and personal-care items were given, to help stock the shelves of charities in Cheyenne. Another record may have been broken with the youth of Cheyenne, as they collected about 6,685 pounds of the same for the cause.

Bone marrow donor registrations were at 55 and blood donations at 49. Not to mention, folks gave 142 items of durable medical equipment, 583 pairs of prescription glasses, 80 hearing aids, 206 cell phones and 900 pounds of medial supplies.
