Medicaid Expansion

After about two hours of testimony Wednesday, the Senate Labor, Health and Social Services Committee did not vote on Senate File 118, the lone Medicaid Expansion bill. The committee took testimony on the bill Wednesday morning and afternoon, but did note vote. A second reading budget amendment, which would have done essentially the same thing as Senate File 118, failed in the House.

Air Service Enhancement

The House approved a second reading budget amendment that would keep money in an account that communities could access in their efforts to enhance air service. House Speaker Pro Tempore, Representative Rosie Berger (HD-51), said sometimes communities need to guarantee that the air service enhancement money will be available when they are negotiating contracts with air service providers.

Guns in Schools

The Senate Education Committee has endorsed a bill that would allow teachers to carry firearms in Wyoming schools. The proposal would allow the local districts to make the decision. The bill now moves on to the full Senate for debate.
