With Christmas just two weeks away, we’ve assembled an army, of MARINES and other locals who want to make sure that not a single child gets nothing but disappointment on Christmas morning. Collecting Toys-For-Tots, we are in front of the new Walmart at I-80 & North College to help these children.

There are all kinds of sad stories here but the great news is that together, we can make a difference in these young people’s lives. Over 1200 kids are signed up to receive gifts and the response has been good, but we still have a way to go to give these kids a bit of joy and hope. We also have a great need for some of the older kids who have a bit more challenging gifting needs. This is where gift cards or cash comes in handy. We’ll have some of our people do the shopping for you.

I know times are tight but it would be great if you could make a donation of a new, unwrapped toy as we stuff the sleigh with toys and more, but I think it’s more like love.

I believe that when you give, you get. Just seeing parents of modest means letting their children pick out toys and then donate them has been more that enough reward for my standing in the dark, wind and cold and snow to help this great cause. Imagining an end to Cheyenne children getting zilch on Christmas morning, warms my heart and soul. My body? Well, come see me this afternoon and evening in front of Walmart, 580 Johnstone.

We’re there until 7 tonight, and back to push it over the top Saturday from 7 to 7.

Thank you – Steve Cooper
