CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Two more school districts have joined a coalition that says the state Legislature has shortchanged Wyoming K-12 funding by $151 million in recent years by failing to keep up with inflation.

Sheridan County School District 3 and Lincoln County School District 1 recently joined the coalition that was formed earlier this year by seven other districts.

The districts want adjustments for inflation to be included as an annual, automatic part of the state's budget.

They say the lack of an inflation adjustment has districts falling behind on heating bills and other costs that increase each year.

Wyoming ranks among the top states in spending per K-12 student.
