The Cheyenne City Council is slated to consider the creation of a Human Rights Advisory Council at tonight's meeting.

Exactly what the council would do has yet to be spelled out, but since the proposal has seven co-sponsors--including Mayor Rick Kaysen--it's chances of winning approval on the ten member body would appear to be favorable.

The mayor on Friday announced a ''diversity and equality ordinance" would be considered by the council at it's regular meeting tonight, but at the time he declined further comment on the issue. The proposal is slated for the first of three readings tonight.

It is scheduled to be referred to the council's Public Service Committee, which will make a recommendation on whether or not to approve the proposal. The city council meets at 6 p.m. in city council chambers.
