Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen says the city is looking for a volunteer to fill a vacancy on the city Housing Authority Board.

The board works to alleviate unsanitary or unsafe housing as well as housing shortages for low-income city residents by finding rentals or housing at affordable prices. The term for the person appointed to the board will begin October, 1 2013 and run through October 1, 2015. The person will be eligible to be re-appointed to the board.

City spokesman Scott Smith says people can apply for the position at the city website or pick up an application at the Municipal Building at 2101 O'Neill Avenue, room 310.  The deadline for applying is 5pm on Friday, August 23.
