Because Cheyenne is not offering a self-service dumpster for big game carcass disposal this year, the Wyoming Game and Fish and city officials want hunters to know their disposal options.

Game and Fish spokesman Jeff Obrecht says hunters can dispose of their animal carcasses at the Cheyenne Transfer Station, 220 North College Drive for free. The transfer station is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. It is also acceptable to dispose of carcasses and bones in your home trash receptacle after butchering.

Hunters are asked to avoid disposing of carcasses in fields or open spaces in or around the city.
