The Cheyenne Regional  DUI Task Force will be activated for the Labor Day Holiday weekend, according to a spokesman for the Cheyenne Police Department.

Sgt Rob Dafoe says besides the CPD, the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Laramie County Sheriff's Department and law enforcement from state parks will all be actively looking for intoxicated drivers on local streets and roadways on Friday and Saturday. Dafoe says that while police haven't seen a big increase in drunk drivers during recent three day weekends, people do tend to drink more during holidays and long weekends.

The task force is a cooperative effort among local l;aw enforcement agencies to ramp up enforcement of DUI laws at times when more people may be driving drunk in the area.
