The Cheyenne Police Department is planning a pair of meetings Monday night to discuss department operations, the local crime rate and other topics pertaining to local law enforcement.

Police Spokesman Kevin Malatesta says the first meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will feature the department's Citizen's Advisory Committee [CAC].

The CAC is designed to improve communication between the department and the residents of Cheyenne. That meeting is slated to be followed at about 6 p.m. by a ''State of the Department" meeting hosted by Police Chief Brian Kozak.

The chief will discuss the 2015 annual crime report as well as a general overview of police operations and effectiveness.

Both meetings will be held at the Cheyenne Police Department at 2020 Capitol Avenue and are open to the public.
