Cheyenne Police Seek Men Passing Fake Money [PHOTOS]

Cheyenne police are asking for the public's help in identifying two men suspected of using counterfeit bills in the Cheyenne area.

"I don't know the number of bills that they passed, but the denomination of bill they were using was a one hundred dollar bill," said Officer Kevin Malatesta.

Anyone who recognizes the men or knows their whereabouts is asked to contact Officer Baca at (307) 633-6617 or abaca@cheyennepd.org in reference to case number 17-23134.

Malatesta says the bills are "obvious counterfeits" and he encourages people who handle one hundred dollar bills to take a second look at them.

"There are a lot of security devices on these modern hundred dollar bills," said Malatesta. "If you just take an extra second to examine those bills you shouldn't be fooled by one of these fakes."
