Cheyenne Police will be out in force looking for drunken drivers starting on St. Patrick's Day [Thursday, March 17] and continuing through the weekend, according to a CPD spokesman.

Officer Dan Long says the holiday typically sees an increase in impaired drivers, and every available officer will join in the enforcement effort.

Long says Cheyenne police will also deploy the DUI command vehicle for at least part of the effort. The command vehicle has all the equipment police need to arrest and process drunk drivers quickly, which lets officers get back out on the street in less time
