Cheyenne Police Officer Manny Fardella has been recognized as the 2014 Wyoming School Resource Officer of the Year.

The award was given out by the Wyoming School Resource Officers Association for Fardella's service as a resource officer at Johnson Junior High School. The winner is selected from nominees from across the state of Wyoming..

Fardella credited colleagues, staff and supervisors at the Cheyenne Police Department with giving him the support needed to win the award. He also says that even though he's been working hard the past three years, he has other goals he still wants to achieve.

Fardella says that includes getting certification to be an instructor for the National Association of School Resource Officers.
