The Cheyenne Police Department will be hosting a citizen seminar on drug influence recognition on December 10, according to spokesman Officer Dan Long

. He says the class will be especially geared towards parents and will teach parents how to recognize the symptoms of possible drug or alcohol use, focusing on the seven drug categories that are most abused by teenagers, ranging from stimulants like cocaine and meth to hallucinogens such as LSD to cannabis, including marijuana and hashish.

The class will be taught by Chief Brian Kozak, who is accredited as a drug recognition expert by the International Association of Chiefs of Police. Long says the class is free, but participants are being asked to pre-register by calling 637-6521 so they can be notified of any changes in the class.
