A 29-year-old Cheyenne man being sought in connection with an Aug. 24 shots fired incident is now behind bars.

Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Officer Kevin Malatesta says officers encountered a black Cadillac driven by Kyle Rozell early this (Wednesday) morning.

"A short chase ensued," said Malatesta. "Rozell fled the suspect vehicle and hid in a field and was shortly thereafter located by our officers."

"He was arrested on charges related to the pursuit itself, including the traffic violations, and was found to have a felony quantity of methamphetamine," Malatesta added.

Rozell has yet to be formally charged. He's scheduled to make his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court tomorrow (Thursday) at 2 p.m.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Cheyenne police are looking for a 29-year-old man who they say shot at a woman in the 1000 block of Hot Springs Avenue Friday night.

Officer Kevin Malatesta says it all started around 10:30 p.m. when Kyle Rozell showed up at a relative's home regarding a previous argument.

"Rozell then used pepper spray on the male occupant who retreated back into the house," said Malatesta. "When the female occupant of the home came out to speak with Rozell, he fired a handgun several times."

Malatesta says the woman had minor injuries to her hand.

Rozell, who's 6-foot-1 and 150 pounds with brown hair and a distinct "KR" tattoo on the right side of his neck, left the area in a black Cadillac passenger car.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police dispatch at (307) 637-6525.
