Cheyenne Police Issue Reminder On Youth Curfews

Cheyenne-Police car
Cheyenne Police Department

With local schools going on summer vacation, a spokesman for the Cheyenne Police Department is reminding parents about the curfew laws regarding minors in the city.

Officer Dan Long says on Monday through Thursday nights there is an 11 p.m. to 6 a.m curfew in effect for anyone under the age of 18. The curfew hours on Friday and Saturday nights are 1 a.m. until 6 a.m.

Long says violators are liable for a $100 fine. But he says authorities will often make exceptions if the juvenile has a valid reason for breaking the curfew, such as medical issues or other emergency situations.
