In remembrance of the victims of last month's mass shooting in Las Vegas, police will be hosting a blood drive at the Cheyenne Public Safety Center tomorrow (Thursday).

Officer Kevin Malatesta says United Blood Services is scheduling appointments for donors between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

"Everybody wants to donate blood at the time right after a big tragedy," said Malatesta. "What they find is their stocks are full right after a big tragedy, but about a month afterwards the stocks really get depleted, the shelf life of blood is only 42 days."

Malatesta says those wishing to "bleed blue" can schedule an appointment with United Blood Services by calling (307) 638-3326 or by going to www.bloodhero.org and using the sponsor code PD.

All donors in November will also be entered to win a trip for two to Mexico, courtesy of United Blood Services.
