The Cheyenne Police Department will host its 7th annual Neighborhood Night Out tomorrow (Tuesday) evening.

The multi-block party is designed to bring neighbors, businesses and police together to recognize and prevent crime in the community.

"There are about 25 parties throughout the city," said Chief Brian Kozak. "So find out where those parties are, go to them, learn who your neighbors are (and) learn who the police officers are who work that area."

Kozak says with last week's fatal shootings in Dallas, Minnesota and Louisiana, positive communication between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve is needed now more than ever.

"Now is a time to really connect with your police department and police officers to have a dialogue with them," said Kozak.
