Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen says he hasn't reached a decision on a possible run for a third term.

The mayor says he 'has strong leanings" on whether or not to run again, but says he has decided to allow himself the month of April to think it over.

Kaysen was President of Cheyenne Light, Fuel and Power [now Black Hills Energy] before retiring in 2007. He was elected Mayor of Cheyenne in 2008, defeating former state legislator Jayne Mockler in the general election that year.

Kaysen was re-elected in 2012, defeating city employee John Palmer in the general election.

Laramie County voters in November of 2015 overwhelmingly rejected a proposal that would have curtailed most of the mayor's powers and given them to an appointed city administrator.
