Cheyenne Man Receives Lifesaving Award From Police
18 year old Cheyenne resident Cole Leal was honored by the Cheyenne Police Department with the Citizen Lifesaver "Hero" award Thursday. On April 26th a 9 year old boy was riding his bike through a Cheyenne neighborhood when he was attacked by two pit bulls. Leal grabbed a boat oar from the porch and fought the dogs off the boy. The dogs tried to attack Leal before running away. Leal says the boy was not seriously injured, but his jacket was "all ripped up." Cheyenne Police Chief Brian Kozak says if Leal had not acted the boy may have been seriously injured. Leal says receiving the award was "pretty cool."
