CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A Cheyenne man has been sentenced to five years in prison for selling methamphetamine near a school.

62-year-old William Grubbs was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court of Wyoming. He was also sentenced to a second, concurrent five-year sentence for conspiring with someone to possess with the intent to distribute, and to distribute, meth.

Court documents show Grubbs sold meth to a confidential informant in February and March. The deals took place about 75 feet away from an elementary school.

The five-year sentence is well below the federal sentencing guideline of 11 years.

Grubbs has previously served 23 years in prison for a multiple-count robbery conviction.
