A 23-year-old Cheyenne man could face up to 15-and-a-half years in prison after allegedly putting his pregnant wife in a headlock and choking her.

According to an affidavit, Duncan Finnie got into an argument with his wife on the night of June 18.

Finnie's wife, who is 20 weeks pregnant with their second child, told a Laramie County Sheriff's deputy that Finnie put her in a headlock when she tried to exit the bedroom to leave.

She said she bit Finnie on his back in an attempt to get free, but he didn't release his grasp and the two fell on the bed.

"He knew I couldn't breathe because I gasped for air and he did it tighter," she told the deputy.

Finnie's wife says she hit the back of her head on the bedroom door when Finnie picked her up. He reportedly placed her back on the bed and left the room.

Finnie told the deputy that he only put his arms around his wife's chest because she was cutting up his belongings with scissors. He denied putting his arms around her neck.

Finnie has been charged with aggravated assault and battery against a pregnant woman, strangulation of a household member-throat or neck and domestic battery-first offense.

Finnie is being held in the Laramie County Jail on $10,000 cash bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 28 at 1:30 p.m.
