What plans do you have for Cheyenne Frontier Days 2015?

You know the 'Daddy of 'em All' is getting close when you see the red, black and white flags going up on the light poles along the parade route in downtown Cheyenne.

It's less than a month until our little 'Magic City of the Plains' hosts the 'World's Largest Outdoor Rodeo.' Along with a week's worth of the best rodeo in the world, Cheyenne Frontier Days brings Championship Bull Riding and the Cinch Rodeo Shootout. And Frontier Park will host seven nights of concerts including:

  • Blake Shelton and Jackson Michelson on Friday, July 17
  • Miranda Lambert with Tyler Farr on Saturday, July 18
  • Big & Rich with Brule on Sunday, July 19
  • Aerosmith and Living Colour on Wednesday, July 22
  • Alabama and Montgomery Gentry on Thursday, July 23
  • Toby Keith with Trace Adkins on Friday, July 24
  • Keith Urban and John Anderson on Saturday, July 25

There are lots of other annual events around the Capitol City during CFD. Four parades will be held in downtown Cheyenne, beginning at 9 a.m. in front of the State Capitol on Saturday, July 18, Tuesday, July 21, Thursday, July 23, and Saturday, July 25.

Also free in downtown Cheyenne each year are the three Kiwanis Club Pancake Breakfasts at the Depot Plaza. They run from 7 until 9 a.m. and are actually a mass feeding training exercise. Thousands of pancakes are served on Monday, Wednesday and Friday during Cheyenne Frontier Days. Celebrities are invited to flip the flap jacks to the volunteer Boy Scouts and diners can sit on hay bales while listening to free entertainment.

Other highlights of the 'Daddy of 'em All' include the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds air show on Wednesday, July 22, the carnival and Indian Village at Frontier Park and plenty of other wild west entertainment during the last full week of July.
