Are you excited March madness has begun?

Four of Cheyenne's high school teams qualified for state at the regional basketball tournament in Sheridan on Thursday and will face the two best teams in Wyoming on Friday night.

WyoPreps.com reports that the Cheyenne Central boys defeated Laramie 50-47 on Thursday, March 5, so the Indians will face the #1-ranked Sheridan Broncs at 8:30 Friday night, March 6.

Cheyenne East downed Cheyenne South 53-46 on Thursday night to advance to the state tournament and will take on the #2-ranked Gillette Camels Friday evening at 5:30.

The Regional Tournament Championship games will be played on Saturday, March 7, in Sheridan.

The girl's teams bracket looked eerily similar to the boy's.

Cheyenne Central beat Cheyenne South 49-40 on Thursday to make it to state and will play #1-ranked Gillette at 7 p.m. Friday, according to WyoPreps.com.

The Cheyenne East girls also advance to the state tournament by embarrassing Laramie 42-14. The Lady T-Birds will face the #2-ranked Sheridan Lady Broncs on their home court Friday afternoon at 4.
