The trial of a Cheyenne man accused of having child porn on his laptop ended in a hung jury this (Wednesday) morning in Laramie County District Court.

After deliberating for nearly five hours, jurors said they were deadlocked and Judge Thomas Campbell declared a mistrial in the case against 26-year-old Dean Jackson.

Jackson was charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a child in November of 2015 after special agents with the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation found numerous child pornography files on his laptop.

He was arrested on a felony warrant for failing to appear on the charges in August of 2016 after he hit a light pole and rolled his car near the intersection of Yellowstone Road and Four Mile Road trying to flee from special agents.

A separate trial on charges related to that incident was expected to begin tomorrow (Thursday), but Jackson chose to take a plea deal and pleaded guilty this (Wednesday) afternoon.
