Cheyenne Central won a spot in the Class 4A football playoffs on Friday night while the Cheyenne East Thunderbirds ended the regular season as the number three seed in the postseason after dropping a game at Sheridan.

The Indians (2-7) played arguably their best game of the season in defeating the Cheyenne South Bison (1-8) by a score of 55-6. The Indian defense forced seven turnovers, returning two of them for touchdowns en route to the win.

Central now faces the unenviable task of winning a first-round playoff game at unbeaten and top seed Sheridan (9-0). But they enter the postseason on a high note, having won what amounted to a play-in game against a cross-town opponent.

Meanwhile, Cheyenne East (7-2) will start getting ready to host Rock Springs (4-5) in first-round playoff action. East enters the post-season as the number three seed after losing a road game to Sheridan by a score of 38-14.

The Tigers meanwhile were decimated by Casper Natrona by a score of 65-6.
