The Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities is warning people about higher than normal streamflows on Crow Creek starting on June 5 (Monday).

Spokeswoman Dena Egenhoff says North Crow Creek Reservoir is already full and Granite and Crystal Reservoirs are expected to fill by Monday. Once those reservoirs are full, the natural flows in Crow Creek and it's tributaries will then pass through the reservoirs, flow over the spillways and back into the creek.

Egenhoff says the high flows by themselves aren't expected to cause flooding, but local storms could cause stream overflows if they cause enough rain.

She also says that people near Crow Creek need to exercise caution, and should not drive or wade through swiftly flowing water of unknown depth.
