Cheyenne's drinking water is safe and water quality meets or exceeds federal standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). That's according to the 2012 Consumer Confidence Report released by the Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities. BOPU spokesman Clint Bassett says the agency will insert copies of the report, also known as the Water Quality Report, in May or June bills issued after May 8th. The report is mandated by the federal government with required information about where Cheyenne's water comes from and how the treated water compares to federal rules regarding drinking water quality.
