CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Officials have pushed back the construction of a new passenger terminal at Cheyenne Regional Airport to next year.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports that the project had been planned to start in July. But officials now say construction will begin in April, pushing back the completion date about nine months later than initially planned.

The delay has been blamed, in part, on Congress not releasing money from Federal Aviation Administration grants as expected.

The airport's director of aviation, Tim Barth, says the holdup in securing grant funding came amid lawmakers' disputes over a spending bill.
