We all have our heroes and those that we've gotten to know either by radio, television or in person. Bob Geha, Channel 5's longtime news anchor, is one of those guys. Yesterday on KGAB Mornings with Gary Freeman, Bob Geha graced the AM radio waves with his friendly and familiar voice. He spoke with talk show host Gary Freeman about his journey in journalism.

From his beginnings at San Diego State University, to the end of his journal career here in Cheyenne, Bob spoke about his experiences as he made his way from a reporter to Cheyenne's news anchor.

Throughout Bobs career, he's interviewed politicians, senators and did some great work covering the Wyoming Legislative sessions. Senator Craig Thomas, Alan Simpson and James Brady, who was shot during an assassination attempt on the life of President Ronald Reagan, to name a few.

He had spent 12 years bringing the news to the residents of Casper and has brought news to all of us here in Cheyenne for the last 13 years.

Bob is not going away, but will stand down for a bit as he enjoys the holidays this year. According to Mr. Geha, "I'm not retiring, I'm just transcending". Bob is hoping to do animal rescue work, but at this time, doesn't know what his role would be. He has worked with the Cheyenne Animal Shelter as well as Black Dog Rescue.

We thank Bob Geha for a job well done throughout the years. Our local CBS 5 News Channel team is losing a great resource and anchor, however we wish Bob the best and hope that he will keep us abreast on any upcoming projects he's doing that we can help him with.
