Fianance Committee Rejects Employee Study
The Cheyenne City Council Finance Committee on Monday voted against a proposal to conduct a city personnel study that would look at several areas, including employee compensation and staffing. Despite the committee vote, however, the proposal still goes on to the full city council Monday night.
Councilman Jack Spiker, who joined councilman Don Pierson in voting against the proposal, says conducting the survey is pointless because the city simply doesn't have the money to implement many of the likely recommendations he thinks the report would put forward, including raises for city employees.
Mead Criticizes Oil Shale Reduction Proposal [AUDIO]
Wyoming Governor Matt Mead is criticizing a federal proposal to reduce the amount of public land in Wyoming available for possible oil shale development. Amy Richards has details. A hydrologist hired by several environmental groups is recommending putting a tracer in fracking fluids in the Pavillion area to find out whether the fluids are getting into the local water supply. Judge Says Phone Warrants Ok in Wyoming [AUDIO]
A Teton County judge has ruled that warrants issued over the telephone for blood tests for drunk driving suspects don't violate Wyoming's Constitution. Doug Randall has the details. The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees voted Friday to allow work to begin this month on the White Hall project, starting with asbestos removal and abatement. TransCanada Proposes New Route For Keystone XL Pipeline [AUDIO]
TransCanada Corporation has reapplied to the US Department of State (DOS) for a presidential permit to build the proposed $7 billion dollar Keystone XL Pipeline. Doug Randall has the details. Cheyenne Officer To Represent Wyoming At Special Olympics World Games
Officer Zachary Johnson of the Cheyenne Police Department was selected to represent Special Olympics Wyoming and the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) at the Special Olympic World Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea in January of 2013.
Johnson was selected to the Global Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg Team after being nominated by Special Olympics Wyoming staff and LETR co-directors.
