CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The cost and timeline to complete an extensive renovation and expansion of the State Capitol and adjacent Herschler Building remain uncertain.

A contractor told members of the State Building Commission on Wednesday that officials won't see a guaranteed maximum price for the Capitol project until June or July.

The guaranteed maximum price sets a ceiling that the state would pay unless a change order is approved for extra costs that are outside the scope of the agreed-upon work.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/1tQN1mL http://bit.ly/1tQN1mL ) that top state leaders expressed concern about getting the final anticipated cost until after the state begins to relocate workers to temporary sites in advance of the construction.
The Legislature approved spending $259 million over the next several years for the project.
