The State Canvassing Board on November 26 certified results of the special judicial retention election in Teton County. The special election, conducted by mail ballot, was for the retention of Ninth Judicial District Circuit Court Judge Wesley Roberts.

Secretary of State Max Maxfield, who chairs the State Canvassing Board, said that results of the Teton County special election were added to those from the judicial retention vote in Fremont and Sublette counties. The Ninth Judicial District encompasses Fremont, Sublette, and Teton counties.

“Based on those results, Judge Wesley Roberts has been retained,” said Maxfield.

Maxfield explained that the special election was held in Teton County because Judge Roberts’ name and office were inadvertently omitted from the General Election ballot. The State Canvassing Board on November 10 directed the Teton county clerk to conduct the special election on the judicial retention question.

The State Canvassing Board is comprised of Governor Matt Mead, Secretary of State Max Maxfield (Canvassing Board Chairman), State Auditor Cynthia Cloud, and State Treasurer Mark Gordon.
