The candidate filing period for the 2014 election in Wyoming is coming up next month. State Elections Director Peggy Nighswonger said the filing period will begin on May 15 and close on May 30. Nighswonger said all federal, statewide and legislative candidates must file with the Secretary of State's Office. Local candidates file at their county clerk's office.

Online filing is available for federal, statewide and legislative candidates through the Secretary of State's office. Nighswonger said the system will be up and running at 12:01 a.m. on May 15.

This year, one U.S. Senate seat and Wyoming's lone U.S. House seat will be on the ballot, along with all five statewide elected officials, all members of the Wyoming House of Representatives and odd-numbered state Senate district seats.

The primary election will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014. The general election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014.
