The Beatles had a song years ago that said, "I don't care too much for money, money can't buy me love." But can it buy happiness?  According to recent studies, the old adage that money can't buy happiness may not be as true as once thought. Today on the Top 5 at 7:45, I'll highlight the top ways that money could buy you happiness, if you dare.

  1. Buy Moments, Not Stuff - Rather than buying material things all the time, spend money on moments and experiences that you can capture on video or a camera, and keep for the rest of your life.
  2. Spend On Others - It's been said that one of the best ways to get the biggest payoff, personally, is how you spend $20 on someone else. Make their day.
  3. Buy In Small Splurges, Not Big Ones - Slapping down a truck-load of cash on something out of your league doesn't give you the same bang for you buck. Giving your self little, inexpensive gifts, cleverly, will give you bursts of happiness.
  4. Buy What You Like For Yourself - Don't try and keep up with Mr. and Mrs. Jones as this will not make you happy at all. Buy some life experience or thing that is in line with your personality, not someone else. Be you.
  5. Spend Money With Friends & Family - A recent study in Psychological Science shows that "to be extraordinary is to be different than other people and social interaction is grounded in similarities."
