The Cheyenne City Council, Monday night, approved by a 4 to 2 vote the appointment of Brandon Cammarata as Development Director.

"I am very pleased that Mr. Cammarata has agreed to serve the residents of Cheyenne as appointed Development Director," said Mayor Rick Kaysen. "He has an extensive background in development and has been a great asset for the City of Cheyenne since joining in 2003."

Cammarata first joined the city as a planner and quickly moved up to senior planner in May 2009. He was tapped as the Development Division Director under the Planning Department in August 2011 and has been in that position since.

"I appreciate the mayor considering me for this position and look forward to continuing to serve the City of Cheyenne," said Cammarata. "I think our office looks to provide a balanced approach of implementing regulations that are, I believe, a reflection of what the community wants to see and continuing to work to maintain and enhance a quality business environment and an efficient business environment. So those are things we've been working on and those are things we'll continue to work on."

Cammarata will take his oath of office on September 29. His appointment goes through 2016.
