A spokeswoman for the C-Span cable network says that organization will focus on local history as well as Cheyenne Frontier Days during it's visit over the next few days.

Ashley Hill says the  network will do several features on topics such as frontier women and the history of the railroad in Cheyenne. Other topics include several CFD events, local authors and an interview with Governor Matt Mead.

Hill says the visit to Cheyenne is part of a tour of mid-size American cities that often don't get a lot of national media attention. The Cheyenne segments are scheduled to air September 6-7.

Mayor Rick Kaysen was among those welcoming C-Span to Cheyenne on Friday, saying the network's visit is a great opportunity to highlight Cheyenne to the rest of the nation.
