CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming lawmakers have taken a first step toward placing a new state-run nursing home for veterans in Buffalo.

The Wyoming House proposal now goes to the Senate for consideration.

State officials who studied potential locations for the facility in 2018 recommended Casper, Buffalo and Sheridan as the top three options. That review found each location had strengths and weaknesses.

Casper officials say they plan to continue conversations with senators about the facility.
