Boy Dies From Injuries Sustained in Crash Monday
A four year old St. Stephens boy died from injuries sustained in a crash Monday night on U.S. 287 about 22 miles south of Laramie.
Wyoming Highway Patrol Sgt. Stephen Townsend said Jerome Warren was driving northbound on U.S. 287 on icy snow packed roads when he lost control of his pickup as he was starting to negotiate an uphill grade of the roadway. The vehicle started to rotate clockwise as it went off the roadway on the right side going into the barrow ditch, and then rolled 1 1/4 times.
Sgt. Townsend said neither child was properly restrained in a booster seat or a seat belt and during the rollover event Steven Warren was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie where he later died. Warren and his 8 year old son Jerome Jerome A. Whispering Wolf Warren were treated and released.
Townsend said troopers cited Warren for not having the children properly restrained in the vehicle as required.
