BOPU Issues Wet Wipe Warning

The Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities is asking residents not to flush cleaning wipes and other disposable wipes down the toilet.

Spokesman Clint Bassett says the wipes cause problems in the sewer system, including sewer backups. The wipes clog sewer service laterals, sewer mains and the pumps that carry sewage away from customers.

Instead of disposing of the wipes in the toilet the BOPU is asking residents to throw them in the trash.
