What are you doing for Mother’s Day? Haven’t figured it out yet? Shame on you!

Fortunately, we’re here to help. Cheyenne is chalk full of great options to treat Mom. Whether you’re looking for a nice lunch or something a little more involved, here are your five best options for treating her on Mother’s Day in Cheyenne.

Before we get to the list, there are a few things we should mention. Most mothers, especially those who spend a lot of time in the kitchen, are going to be floored if you do something simple like cook up a nice meal for them. (The key word here is nice. Don’t skimp and do Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. Don’t let the smoke detector tell you when it’s time to turn the oven off.) Breakfast in bed, perhaps?

That said, not everyone has the cooking skills to whip up a seven course meal without either burning the house down or killing the woman of honor with salmonella. And you might want to do something other than feed your mother (or wife or girlfriend…). So we’ve mixed up our list with both food spots and a few activities.

1. Brunch at the Little America

The Grand Ballroom at the Little America Hotel, 2800 W. Lincolnway

10 — 2 on Mother’s Day

Expect to pay a little over $30 a plate with gratuity, $15 or so for the kids

Website, Facebook, Twitter or (800) 445-6945.

If you’re not cooking for your mother because you’re afraid it won’t be classy enough, this is where you’re taking her. That’s all there is to say about the Little America Brunch. One of the twelve people in Cheyenne who haven’t been to our destination hotel since their remodel a few years back? Let’s just say that, while the staff probably will not throw you out if you show up in sweatpants, we might. Dinner jackets aren’t required — this is a brunch — but you should at least make sure you don’t embarrass your mother by showing up in a coffee-stained T-shirt.

As a bonus, the weather looks like it’s going to be great Sunday, and you can treat your mum to nine holes on Little America’s excellent golf course. We’d suggest you set a tee-time, though, as the course is sure to be swamped with this being Mother’s Day and a nice one at that. 775-8400 is the direct line to the pro-shop.

2. Ladies’ Spa Night

The Cheyenne YMCA, 1426 E. Lincolnway

Saturday night, 5 — 8 pm

$25 per visitor

Website, Facebook or 634-9622.

Ladies, treat your mother to a relaxing evening at the YMCA’s annual Spa Night. Enjoy a pampered evening of massages, facials, yoga, zumba, a sit in the sauna or (and?) hot tub, raffles, refreshments and more. Men: buy your ladies tickets. (Don’t tell you mom we told you, but this is a great excuse to get the women out of the house while you go to the bar clean the house.) Be sure to call soon, though, as space is limited.

3. Suite 1901

1901 Central Ave.

Saturday during normal hours

Facebook, or 634-1901

The reason there is no competition from Suite 1901 for Little America’s title spot is because 1901 has given its employees Mother’s Day off. But that doesn’t mean you have to miss out, not at all. You can, in fact, make Mother’s Day a two-day holiday. (Three if you take advantage of Friday’s Spa Night!)

Not only is 1901 soliciting reservations for Saturday, they’re offering a screaming deal. Take mom to the Suite Saturday, and they’ll waive half the cost of her favorite entrée or tapa!

And just like Little America: we’d suggest you wear your best boots.
