2. Sloans Lake

8th Ave. and Carey Ave. in Lions Park, Cheyenne – (307) 637-6423

Price- Free

Garth Brooks must be talking about this beach in “Beaches of Cheyenne” since it is the only one we have!  Nowhere else in Cheyenne are you able to find white sand and sand castles.

Sloan’s Lake is not open every summer for swimming, but this year — it is!  Here, you can swim, lay on the ‘beach,’ and rent paddleboats, canoes, or kayaks. Since swimming and playing often make you hungry, there are also concessions at Sloan’s Lake.  You don’t have to worry about packing up snacks and water before you head out the door.  One last great thing — you can bring your dog here!
