If you or your friends sport a fantastic handlebar moustache or a beard of epic proportions, you'll want to make sure to attend the Cheyenne Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Beard and Moustache Club's first ever Beard and Moustache Competition this Saturday, August 1, at 6:00 p.m. at the Redwood Lounge.

"We're just asking that all 'beardos' come out, bring your furry face down there and show it off," said organizer Jon Puls. "We even have a category for the ladies known as the 'whiskerinas' and with that category all you got to do is get classy and crafty and sport your favorite design, come down and fluff it and show it off like the guys do."

Puls says anyone over 21 can participate in the competition.

"It's $10," said Puls. "It's completely open to the public, but you do have to be over 21 because it is being held at the Redwood."

All proceeds raised from the event will go to the family of Janessa Spencer, who was killed by her ex-boyfriend Daniel Guajardo in April.

"I'm friends with Janessa's sister," said Puls. "She explained to me that Janessa had three kids and that the family was kind of trying to do some stuff and I said well let me see what I can do. So I got the guys at the Beard and Moustache Club together and we decided if we could help we would."

Puls says there will also be activities throughout the day, including a barbecue and live music. Go to the event Facebook page for more information.
