Bairoil Mayor Sue Ann Rigano has been ordered to appear in Circuit Court in Rock Springs on October 28 on charges of nepotism.

Sweetwater County Sheriff's Department spokesman Dick Blust says an investigation found that Rigano's husband, Anthony Rigano, was employed by the town as a police officer and water system operator.

Blust says investigators also found that Rigano's daughter in law, Jennifer Evans was employed as acting town clerk and had been employed by Bairoil since July of 2013. Under Wyoming law nepotism is a misdemeanor that carries a potential penalty of a $1000 fine and possible removal from office.

Bairoil has a population of 190 and is located in northeast Sweetwater County.
