David Settle

A native of Fort Collins, Colorado, David Settle earned a degree in Broadcasting from the University of Wyoming in 1998.  He originally joined KOWB/KCGY in June of 1998 as a board operator.  He was named the full-time Sports Director in July of 1999.  In July of 2009, he added the title of Operations Manager to his responsibilities.  He has also worked as an intern for Wyoming Public Radio and KIIX radio in Fort Collins.  As the Sports Director, he is in charge of covering all aspects of the local sports scene.  He broadcasts five sportscasts every weekday, coordinates all sports programming for KOWB/KCGY, is a co-host of Sportsline Live three days a week, the primary host of Cowboy Talk and the “Voice of” the Laramie Plainsmen and Lady Plainsmen, as well as the Laramie Rangers.  In 2007, 2008 and 2010, he won the award for “Best Play-by-Play” from the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters.  As Operations Manager, he oversees the day-to-day functions of both KOWB and KCGY.  David is happily married.  He and his wife Sara, have two daughters, Mikaela and Paige.

Cowboys Take Down #5 Aztecs, 68-62

In a thriller at the Arena-Auditorium, the Wyoming Cowboys knocked off a top-5 ranked opponent for the first time in 16 years Tuesday night. The Pokes toppled the #5 San Diego State Aztecs by a final of 68-62.

Another Overtime Loss for Wyoming to New Mexico

In a battle to the very end, the Wyoming Cowboys came up short in overtime to the New Mexico Lobos for the second time this season. The Lobos pulled out a 66-61 victory in overtime Wednesday night in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Cowboys Fall Short in Fresno, 67-62

They came close, but the Wyoming Cowboys remain win-less in the city of Fresno. The Pokes lost at Fresno State 67-62 Wednesday night at the Save Mart Center. The loss snapped a four-game win streak for UW.

Wyoming Cowgirls Run Past Fresno State, 87-76

Kaitlyn Mileto scored 21 points and Kayla Woodward added 20 points, as the Wyoming Cowgirls downed the Fresno State Bulldogs 87-76 Wednesday night at the Arena-Auditorium. The Cowgirls stayed perfect in Mountain West play at home.

Cowboys Top Falcons for Big Road Win

The Wyoming Cowboys rallied from a 15-point deficit in the first half to win their third straight game, 66-59, at Air Force Wednesday Night. Larry Nance, Jr. scored 20 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and blocked 3 shots to lead three Cowboys in double figures in the victory.
